The hemp market is very depressed on account of advice from Manila, and all fibres are offering at much lower prices per tori for March-May shipment; £24 10s and £23s 5s are quoted respectively for good fair, and fail* grade. Southampton, 6000 and nil. Ireland ,193 and 200. Current quotations for Bradford tops are :—36's, low crossbreds, lid per lb ; 40's, low crossbreds, ll^d-; 40'sj medium crossbreds. Is Id; 50's, halfbreds, lso^d; 56's, quai'terbreds, Is Bfd; 60's, merinos, 2s o|d. The market is dull and declining, especially for coarse tops of all grades. . The hope market is dull, and likely to continue so. The market is becoming more depressed on account of licensing legislation. The . best quotes for English liqps are 60s, and American 40s per cwt.
