The newspapers believe that General Gooth's offer to the Hon. A. Deakin relates largely to the rurals who have drifted into the towns. There is no unusual distress in the agricultural districts threatened. It is understood the offer Ls due to the Australian summer corresponding with the period of dis tress in England.
