Several sails were blown away, cauaiinat the vessel to broach to. A iheavy sea broke on beard, . carrying away port bulwarks, flooding the ca,bin and forecastle, (and washing everything movable off the deck. The weather moderated on September 1, but strong west and north-west gales continued until the 10th, wlhen the New Zealand oaasfc was made.
