In the first.round of the Ladies' Championship Mr. Izard beat Mrs. Dyer 8 up 7 to play, Mrs. Cleghorn beat Miss Jackson 4 up 2 to -play, Taylor beat Miss Krull 3 up and 2 to play, Miss 0. Stanford beat Miss Baker 4 up and 3* to play, Miss Cave beat Miss Peat 9 up 7 to play, Mrs. Sargeant beat Miss Barnicoat 3 up and 1 to play, Misa Liffiton scratch to Mrs. Innes and Miss Worgan scratch to Miss-Stanford. Two other pairs were unable to play.
