FEARFUL COLLIERY EXPLOSION
123 MINERS KILLED

LONDON, July 12.
An explosion in No. 2 pit of the United National Collieries at Wattstown, in Glamorganshire, killed 123. Two others were rescued, but succumbed. Eight hundred workers in No. 1 mine wore rescued uninjured, though even here the effect of' the explosion damaged the guide ropes and delayed the rescuers proceeding in No. 2, which was found to be filled WitK foul air.
