LONDON, July 10. The Australians began their match against Derbyshire to-day. The Homo team is Wright, Ollivierre, H. F. Wright, Hunter, Ashcroft, Cadman, Marples, Morton, Humphries, Best wick, and Wilken. McLeod, Newland, Duff, and Howell j are not playing. i The weather is muggy and the wicket tricky. The attendance is moderate. Derbyshire won the toss, and sent the visitors in. Armstrong was bowled when the total was 24, and Hill retired when 45 showed on the board. Noble was next, to go, and threo wickets were down for 77, of which Trumper, who wag playing a forcing game, had scored 35, though his innings was married by chances at 13 and 30. Gregory wa;i caught at 98, and Trumper was the next to go at 121. Ho had been batting 80 minutes," and hit eight fourers. Hopkins retired at 329; then Darling and Gehrs made a stand, and tho score now stands at six for 164. Tho wicket became faster during the clay. Gehrs played a vigorous innings.
