An Auckland wire announces the death of Father Benedict. The death is announced at Napier of William Miller, a very old identity, aged 80. Deceased was formerly gaoler at Napier. We regret to ihear that Mr. D. J. Esau is ait present ilaid up with an attack of pleurisy, and that.it will -be' some days before he is about again.
