Per Press Association OHRIS'I'OHURCH, September 3. The Canterbury v. South Canterbury football 'match was pj'aycd 'here to-day, the- home team winning by 25 points to 3. The weather was fine and ths ground good, but a strong w1 nd interfered with the play. In 'the first spell only one try was registered by Canterbury, who played a poor game, maiding numerous mis. takes- In tihe second spell the home t*am wsvxb better, wJhilo the. visitors, who had a woa:k team, wer© hopelessly •beaten in ail pcarits. For the winners, tries were scored by P. Byrne. H. Byrne, L. Corlbstt, R. G. Deans, and E. T Harper. The last-named a!t3o placed two <*oa;le from tries and one from a penalty. Budd sooired for the visitors.
