Accidents and Fatalities.
Per Press Associaton
AUCKLAND, November 16. A sad drowning accident occurred near Motmtapu yesterday afternoon. Four young men named Leslie Morrison (20), Thomas Ryan (21), Ernest Ryan (20), and Arthur. Tupp (20), after visiting a small island, started to: pull out to their yacht. When twenty yards from land the dingey swamped. The men were in oilskins, which greatly impeded swimming. The two Ryans reached the island safely, whist Tupp clung to the dingey. Morrison swam a few yards towards the shore, and then turned and struck out for the dingey. His strength failed, however, and he was drowned. Tupp managed to get the dingey to shore. PALMERSTON N., November 16.
