DISPOSAL OF BILLS
The Kawhia and Awakiho Counties Bill (Sir Joseph Ward) was introduced and read a first time.
The Petone Foreshore Vesting Bill was thrown out.
The New Plymouth Harbour Board Empowering Bill was withdrawn.
The Oamaru Harbour Board Loan Bill (Hon. T. Y. Duncan) was read a second time.
The House then went into committee on 35 local Bills.
The Palmerston North High School Bill was opposed by Mr McGowan and others, and eventually Mr Wood agreed to progress being reported. The House resumed at 2 p.m. LOCAL BILLS.
The following local Bills passed through committee, and were subsequently put through their final stages— Port Chalmers Corporation Empowering, Otago Dock Trust, Electric Lighting. Carterton Borough Water Supply, Wainono Drainage District Adjustment, Thames Harbour Board Empowering, Taranaki and Hawera Hospital Districts Apportionment, New Plymouth Borough and Taranaki Hospital Exchange. Whang'arei Borough Repayment Hutt Mechanics Institute, Timaru Harbour District and Harbour Board, Lvttelton Harbour Board Enlargement, Christchurch District Drainage Amendment", Wanganui Suburbs Lighting, Wellington Corporation Leasing, Waiapu Hospital District, Otago Harbour Board and Patea Harbour Foreshore Bill.
