The prizes in the above Art. Union have been allotted as?--'follows: — I.—Carved Sideboard, value £105. 2.—Hall Stand, value £25. 3.—Minor, value £16. 4.—Picture, "Stony Creek, Kaikoura,'" (Sherriff). s.—"Theen. Switzerland. .EA rening" (Worsley). 6.—Carved and decorated banjo, value £7 7s. 7.—Carved table, value £6 6s. All the undermentioned prizes arc pictures : — B.—"Cheddvsione'' (Barra.ud). 9.—"The Swamp, New Brighton (Men-zies-Gibb). 10.—"Breaker's" (Menzies-Gibb). 11.—Fancies" (Mrs L. Jones). 12.—"Moonrise, West Coafct" (Drake). 13.—"Primroses." (Mrs E. Lanauze). 14.—"Antipodes" (Worsley). 15.—"A Gently Flowing Tide" (Sherriff). 16.—"A Quiet Harbour" (N. Jones). 17.—"Evening Calm, Lake ' Hawea,"' (Drake). 18.—"Tree Ferns" (Mrs L. Jones). 19.—"Wanganui Valley under Snow' (Sherriff). 20.—'Mount Egmont" (Mrs C. A. Dunn). 21.—"Wall Flower" (Clelia Burton). 22.—"Fishea-men's Hiits, Island Bay" (Baker). 23.—"Well'ngtoir. from Hutt Road" (Worsley). The 24th prize is a poker-work screen, of the value of £1 10s. The total value of pictures is £72 7s, and the value of the whole of the prizes amonts to £233 10s.
With suoh a lovely lot of prizes thei-e is nothing astonishing in the fact that tho demand for tickets .continues to be brisk; in fact, tho usual term, "going like hob cakes," by no means describes the celerity with which they Sell. In future the pei-son in search of a simile may Avell substitute 'Veiling like Garrison Band Art Union tickets." -..".-
