OBITUARY.

NAPIER, Oct. 4,
One of the early Hawkc's Bay settlers, in the person of Mrs A. McHardy, relict of the late Alexander McHardy. formerly president of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, and mother of Messrs McHardy Bros., well known throughout the colony as breeders of Short ■ horn cattle, died at her residence, Blackhead this morning, aged 73 years. In addition to the two sons mentioned above, the deceased lady leaves two daughters.
