DISINTERMENT OF CHINESE.

The Waite-inata County "Council has ijeen asked; to object to any repetition of the . disinterment proceeding1 wliich had been .going on at Waikumete. Mr. Bvuco said the disinterments were sanctioned Jjy law. Mr. Cochrane said the -'southern Councils had protasiod. "He was toiid \hfi scene wa.s disgusting in the extreme. Tie chairman said it was a matter of sentiment with the Chinese people to take the bodies home.. Mr. . Cochrano ' : thought Cliinaman should in futu-ra be compelled to buiy on a small island if they were determined to disinter. Tb" Council took action.
