A NEW MARIST BROTHERS' COLLEGE.
AUCKLAND, October 3.
A' tender for the erection of a Marat Brothers* College at- svunsonby5vunsonby has be a i accepted, and work om the building will be commenced.:immediately. T^iiree years ago Bishop Lieuihan madle a grant to the Order of some sixteen acres of land, theonly condition being that the Marist Order would erect a siiitable College and provide a competent teaching staff. The iocail Piiiicip^l, off the Order thereujppn communicated with the head house of the Order in France. The French authorities approved of the scheme1, and voted a stufficient'sum for carrying .out'the work. Mr. Moody secured the contract for the buildingl at £47&0. It as estimated tliat when the building and all niternal fittings are completed the. cost will run into something like '£5000. .
