I HEREBY give" notice that the Wanganui Borough Council proposes to take steps to raise by way of Special Loan, under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," the sum of £70,000, to be applied as follows: — * (a) For constructing "waterworks" { r*s defined by Section 287 of the said Act) for the supply of water for the use oi tho inhabitants of the Bor ough and for extending and en fca'ging the present "waterworksI.' (as above defined) of the said Boiv ough and for purchasing or acquiring lands or rights or easements in connection with such-construc-tion, extension, of enlargement, and for any purpose incidental or in relation to any of the. above purposes. And further," that the Council intends to establish a Sinking Fund during the' currency of the loan for or towards payment of such loan at its maturity of ail amoatit representing \ per cent. of. the amount for the time being of the said Loan actually borrowed, arid to permanently appropriate and pledge a Special Rat© of Is 6d in the pound tipon all rateable .property in the Borough as security for such Loan and interest,, and for the purposes of providing such interest and sinking fund. And further proposes to issue debentures for such Loan in accordance with the provisions of "The ••Municipal Corporations Act, 1,900, each to be payable on the Ist day. of November, 1914.
