FIRE AT PONSONBY.
AUCKLAND, October 2.
A house at Ponsonby, occupied by a widow named Famell, was destroyed' by fire last night. The inmates had a narrow escape. Mr. Cotter, solicitor, was the owner, and the house was insured in the Commercial Union for £250, and the furniture for £200 in the Phoenix.
