THE KAISER AND THE GENERALS
GERMAN OPINION.
Received October 2, 10.36 p.m.
BERLIN, October 2.
It is understood in diplomatic circles in Berlin that Great Britain docs not object to the Kaiser audiencing the Generals, but Britain will decline to officially recognise the visit, lest such action be interpreted as a ratification of the statements contained iia the manifesto. The Kaiser, in such case, would refuse the audience.
LONDON/ October 2,
Reuters Agency in Berlin states that official circles express regret that the proposed audience should have given umbrage to Britain. It was, and is, hoped that the audience, if sought, will be granted through the usual diplomatic channel, and would tend to dissipate some misu.;dv.standings between Germany and Bruarn, and not be injurious, but rather favourable to Britain's interests.
