MR R. E. BECKETT'S REPORT.

MARTON, Sept 12. I held a successful sale at Hunterville yesterday. Cattle came forward in full numbers, and sold briskly; fats, however, in most cases failed to reach vendors' idea of value, butchers declining to operate, and contenting themselves with a hand-to-mouth supply. £10 12s 6d was offered for one fat cow, but declined. I had only a few pens of sheep, which brought good prices. I quote:— Cattle.—Fat cows (light) £6 10s, 2^-year steers £4 19s to £5 15s, 18-months steers £3 2s to £3 12s 6d, 12-month steers £2 5s to £2 10s, mixed weaners £1 7s to £1 12s 6d, run cows in calif £3 ss, dairy cows in calf ±/H 15s to £5 10s', daily heifers in calf £3 15s to £6 10s. Sheep.—Wethers, 11s lOd, woolly hoggets 10s. . * ' l also sold, on account of the Public Trustee, in the estate of the late Mrs Cameron* 846 acres', at £4 18s 6d per acre, to Messrs Cameron Brother-*, and \m account of- Mr Cunningham, the goodwill of 100 acres for £400.
