A SERIOUS EXPLOSION.
Press Association—Telegraph—Copyright. Received.August 14, 5.30 p.m. PARIS, August 13. Lightning exploded vats containing half a million gallons of absinthe at Pernod's distillery, Pontarlier River, in. the Department of Doubs.
The blazing mass ran on to the river, which was transformed into a, flood of fire.
The loss is estimated at £320,000,
