HAWERA, August 8. At Elthani. on the sth inst., we had a eood entry of cattle. There was spirited bidding throughout, most lines being disposed of at the hammer.

At Hawern, on thr Bth, there was a fair muster of cattle and sheep, ■with good enquiry for the former, while the latter were neglected. We quote : — At Elthain: Fat heifers, £4 Ss to £4 12s 6d; fat cows, £4 10s to £4 17s 6d; store cows, £3 10s to £3 12s 6d; fresh cows, £3 12s 6d to £3 16s ; 2-year quiet heifers in calf, £3 10s to £4; 3-year dairy heifers (springing), £4 to £5; 18----month steers, £3 7s 6d to> £3 12s 6d: weanersf, 30s to 35s ; mixed yearlings, £2 to £2 6s; dairy cows, £4 10s to £6.

At Hawcra : Weaners, 26s to 345; yearlings, 41a to 465; yearling steers, £2 7s to £2 11s ; yearling heifers, £2 to £2 8s; 2-year emply heifers, £3 to £3 5s ; cows and calves, .£4 2s 6d; store cows, £3 7s 6d to £3 12s 6d; fresh cows. £3 18s to £4; fat heifers, £4 15s; fat cows, £4 15s to £5 ss; 18-month steers, £3 9s 6d to £3 14s; 2-year steers, £3 17s 6d to £4: springers, £5 to 5 17s 6d; dairy cows, £4 10s to i) 5 10s.
