WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL

Tho ordinary monthly meeting of the Waitotara County Council was held yesterday, there being present Crs Ritchie (in the chair), Harper, Handley, Tawse, Hole and Billinghurst.

Minutes—The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Castlecliff Road—Mr Callum, contractor for the Castlecliff Road completion, applied for an extension of 6 weeks. On the motion of Cr Harper, seconded by Cr Ritchie, it was resolved that the extension be granted on the distinct understanding that no further extension will be aiilowed, and that the penalty will be imposed if the work is not completed in that time. Gonville—Mr Morgan waited on the Council and requested that the- Council's foreman be allowed to supervise the making of a drain from the Gonville Road. On the motion of Cr Ritchie, seconded by Cr Harper, it was resolved to accede to the request of the Gonville residents. Foreman's Report—The Foreman's: report for the month was mad and adopted. .

- Nuisancs at Aramoho—The Foreman reported that complaints had been made of a nuisance at Ammolio, and it was decided to give notice that it should be abated at once.

Camping Stock on Road—Tlio Foreman also reported that complaints were frequent of drovers with herds of stock camping on the roadside, and tying their dogs at each end of the mobs to prevent them breaking away. Several members also referred to this annoyance. It was decided that the clerk take action under tho Public Works Act, and that in future aiil drovers so offending be at once prosecuted.

Moults Road—The matter of repairs to Moults Road was left in the hands of the Foreman, to be dealt with as soon as possible.

Heads Road—lt was resolved that the Foreman be authorised to procure material for fencing the Heads Road.

Okehu Bridge—lt was resolved, on the motion of Cr Billinghurst, seconded by Cr Handlcy, that the timber be procured for a bridge across the Okehu Stream. Accounts —A number of accounts were passed for payment.
