SYDNEY, March 4.
A rna-n named John Stevens, while working in a sewer, was overcome by foul air. 'A fellow workman named Challis went to his assistancp, and' *vas also overcome. Two others descended and were overcome. Nothing daunted, workmen and a constable went down, and succeeed in rescuing them. Stovena died, but the others recovered.
