WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

WELLINGTON, May 11. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. report as follows : —

We offered 70 bales of wool and 3350 sheepskins at to-day's sale. In consequence of unfavourable news from the London market, bidding for wool wa*. slow, and places declined -Jd to Jd per lb. Skins were in much bette/ demand, and sold freely to within Jd per lb of last sales rates. Tho decline was most marked in line-woolled skins and all inferior lots. We quote : —

Wool .—Fleece and lambs, 4|d to sid per lb; crutchings, 3d to 3id ; locks, Id to 2d.

Skins.— Merinos and half-bred-?, 5d to 6d per lb ; crossbreds, 4_d to 5Jd ; inferior, 6d to 3^d ; pelts (sound), 8d to Is &d oach. Thc date of next- sale is the 25th May.
