THE WAXWORKS.

The Waxworks and Vaudeville Company will open at the Oddfellows' Hall tins evening. Jules Treves, of Paris. Parsing on we see excellsiil effigies of Henry Irving and Ellen Terry (1899 models), Lord Wolseley, Captain and Madame Dreyfus, cn.l M. Labori, all recently modelled iu Paris; a -splendid group of King Jobn signing Magna- Charta, surrounded by the Barons (nine figures) ; iho notorious Oom Paul Kruger j a beauti ful group of members of the Royal Family, including Her Majesty, Prince a.vl Princess of Wales, Duke and Duchess ol York, and Koyal Princes and Princesses. A large pr-iiny-intbe-dot machine lnclules a bijgraph, fortune-telling by colour of hair, automatic weighing maehiue, nn orchestrion, eroscope. eto. etc. Splendid cyclorarnic pictures show views of London and Paris by day and nigbt. In .ddition the company give an attractive w riety progi amine, of which a eonteniporay says: —

The vjirioly business proved viM-yentevtain-ing. Professor Percy's Punch' and Judy show as most amusing, and while this was on the fun wat fatt and iuiioi.s. Mr Kindley sang "Kimberley" and "Love is a Magnet," both being well given ; and i.liss Lillio Smith was encored for "Wiittt do I Care." Carl Mazoni's conjuring aet was a very clever performance, and none the less-succes.-l'ul was Rexo, the juggler, who doesall sorts of marvellous things. Mr Mi rton Prior, who is a perfect- ho^t in hiu.sclf, was encored no fewer than five times, and be deserved tho compliments, for he is a clever actor, and knows how to amuse an audience. There were many other items to make up an attractive piograinme, which met with much appreciation.
