— * — DATE OF THE ELECTIONS. . Ifc is understood that ; '-'the general election writs will be issued this week — probably on Wednesday or Thursday. According to law, seven days must elapse between the issue of the writs and the nomination of candidates, while ; another period of equal length must intervene" between nomination and election. The date of the elections will therefore be-either Wednesday, 6th, or Thursday, 7th December next.
