Dining Cars on Palmerston-New Plymouth Line. [By Telegraph]. (Special to Chronicle.) Wellington, July 13. Tn answer to a question by Mr Stevens today, the Minister for Railways said i that until he had been able to meet the demands for lolling stock on the railways of the colony he could do nothing in tho matter of providing dining cars on the Palmerston to New Plymouth line. He was, however, having plans of dining cars prepared, in the meantime they were having all the bridges on this line inspected and reported on, as heavier locomotives would have tobe used for the increasing heavy traffic on the steep grades on this line. Deputation from Municipal Association. Received With Scant Courtesy by the Premier. The deputation from the Municipal Association, who waited on the Premier last night, was treated with very scant courtesy. Tho Premier said the Municipal Conference miRhL afford a very nice holiday for the delegates, but he did not consider it would be of much service. I He would not delay his JJill for them or anybody, but would push on with it as it was demanded by the countiy, ' The liill passed its second reading with < little opposition, but the light over ifc > will take place in Committee, '
