At ihe Wesleyan Conference yestarday a letter was iead from tho Christchurch Prohibition League asking for a ruling that no Jjquor sellers or members of lockey Clubs who promate gambling by holding offices in Jockey Clubs bo allowed to stand for election to offices iu Christian churches. •After discussion the conference decided on the motion of the Rev. Mr Morley, to rtply that the pesition of tho Wosloyan Church with reference to temperance and gambling is sufficiently defined in the resolutions of the general conference and annual conference for years past. The conference has now closed,
