UPPER WANGAEHU ROAD BOARD.

Thn usual meeting of tho above waß held at Maniamabu on December let, 1894. P.-csent — M?ssrs Nicholson, Beard, Whiteman unl Kollik- Mr Nioholson was voted lo tho cbair. Minutes of last meeting and spec's! meeting woro read and confirmed. Messrs Barnes, Bolton, and Tod waited on tha Board to request that a brilge be erected over tbo Mangamahu at the orossiog at Messra Parkos and Manningtoa's properties. Matter deferred for farther consideration. Mr Kent waited on the Board to ask for an ei'cusion of timo for the completion cj his contract, No. 5, Mamgamahu VaUey Koad. Resolved that a month's time be graiilad Mr Bejel waited on tbe Board to request tbat ho bo paid £10 extra for lowering grado at Eecnan'e Leap River Base}, "dr Allon stated tbat ho had given no instrucr tions to Mr Reid to alter the road, and tbat it bad beon deoided et a former meeting not to hare the work done. Reßolved that as ' Mr Roid bad doao the work, and the alteration improved the road, he be paid tho sam asked. It wa* raiolved that Mr Keating's Biver Hoad contraoi must bo completed to tho Engineer's satisfaction. It was resolved that the bonus of £28 prori'iicd to Messrs McOallum nnd Stanley on tbe'r contract on Hales' Dray Boad be paid over, on condition that tliey fell sundry points of bush on tbe ehadv sido of the road aa dirfotod by tho Enginoer. Resolved that the £10 10s promised to Mr W. N. Higgie be forwarded to Mr Watt for payment tq him. Tho engineer waa instructed l(j prepare plana and call ultcrnativo tepders for a bridgo end ooncretp culver); over the stream on Mr Biggie's Lspd River Hoad • alsq tq prepare plans for filling at Harper's Streain Rivor Bond forthwith. The audited balance-sheet for the year 1803 & fas laid on the tablo. Tbo following tenders wero acoepted : — Sfanga-nahu Bridgo (matai timber), Wrn. Oliver, £175 : Keating's bridge, Wang^ehu Valloy Koad, squared timber tma-tai', if. Hewitt, £82 j widening bridle track, eto, bstween Ngamatea ond Koukoupo Stream, 0. Leitch. £47. Mr Nicholson tendered his resignation as a member of the Board, whioh waa reoeived with regret. Lei ter wa3 reoeived fro a the Commissioner of Orown Land?, stating that the Land Board &Dproved of tho Boad Board's propoeals for cxpondituto of Hales Road Thirds, but asking that o tracing be forwarded, showing Dreciso locality on vhioh tho sum of £68 4b 9d was to be expended in bridle track. Tho Olerk stated that he had fnrworded tho tracing as rrqueitad. Prom Coinmisfioner of Orowa Lands, stating that tho return as furnished to Mc Hutchison of the amout of thirds duo to the Upper Wcngaohu Koad Board wus inoorreot, and that the amount should havo been £612 16s 4d inotoad of £076 7s 2d as shown.
