CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

Tho annual meeting of the above was held yesterday, there being present— Mesirs A. J. Parsons. B. N. Liffiton, Morgan, W. Bamber, B. K. Bimp3OD, A. timpsoa, E. Newman, and Tlmrston.

OHiiBMAH.— On the motion of Mr W. BainW, ioconded by Mr H. K. Simpson, Mr A, J. Parsons was uuanimriuely'electod chairman for the onsuiug twolve months, and was congratulated on Ihb re-appoint-ment.

The request of Mies Morrin regarding the custody of the t-fO children Osmond was accoodod to, and tba unanimous thanks of tho Board was rendered to Mi'bs Morris for her caro of the children, this being proposod by Mr A. Matron.— 'l ho Chairman stated that Application had been made by tbe matron tor :'urthcr assistance, this time for a cook, ho objected to such assistance, in viow of what had been boon done in this direction, us tboto wore already two women omployed. It was elicited that there were at present 29 inimitea in the institution and many of them wore ablo to assist in the work. It was decided that the application cou'd not bo ontertniued and that if those in charge ooul 1 not look utter the work thon other arrangements must bo imvJe.
