■ » According to the annual report of the Inspector's, the number of schools at the close of the year nnder the Wanganui Board was 103, oight more than at the end of 1892, the average weekly roll number being 4606 males, and 4227 females, making a total of 8833. The working average for the last quarter of the year was 6585, t c, 136 higher than the strict average. The roll number shows an increase of 440, and rhe average attendance an inorease of 84 on the corresponding numberß of the laßt quarter of 1892.
