MR W. WHITEMAN'S DEATH.

[Prr United Press Association.] Auckland, March 28. On Monday Mr W. 11. Whiteman, of the M'anganui District, was drowned at Eotorua in a bath known as the Postmaster's Bath. It is a new bath, which of late visitors hav<> commenced to use, and has no caretaker. It is situated some distance from the Government baths. He went alone, and was found drowned, and he is supposed to have fainted through the sulphurous heat.and drowned in that condition. A verdict of accidental death was returned, with a rider to the effect that the Governmont be called upon to place all the baths under supervision, and also cautioning tho public against bathing alone.
