(Per Press Association.) Napier, March 24, It is splendid- weather for the second day of the Bowling Tournament. There are' a tremendous number of entries for the Championship Singles and not a single round was completed at the close of thn day's play. Great progress, howev(*r. was made with the Champion Bink Tournament, of wliich only another round remains to be played. The following are the results co far :— First Duaw — Christchurch beat Napier by 20 to 26; Palmerston beat Napier by 29 to 26 ; and Palmerston beat Auckland by 23 to 19; Napier No. 2 beat Chiistchurch No. 2bylß to 15 ; Ponsonby beat Napier by 18 to 14. Second Draw— Wellington baat Auckland by 21 to IGj Napibr beat Ponsonby by J7 to 16 ; Napier beat Christcharch by 23 to 11 ; Wanganui beat Palmerston by 2! toll; Wellington beat Gisborne by 29 to 18; Auckland beat Thorndon by 30 to 7; Palmerston North No. 2 beat Ponsonby by 24 to 20 ; Thorndon beat Palmerston No. 3 by 27 to 8. Cbristchurch, which yesterday was regarded as likely to carry all before it, was thus swept clean out of the Champion Rinks contest, for which Thorndon is favourite. Third Draw— Wanganui (a team made up of two Wanganui players and one each of the beat players from Canterbury and Auckland) beat Napier by 26 to 13 ; Palmerston beat Wellington by 14 to 13 ; Auckland decisively beat Napier No. 2 by 2G to 12 ; Thorndon beat Wellington by 33 to 14. The rinks left in therefore are Auckland, Palmerston North. Thorndon, and the composite team styled tho Wanganui Rink. March 26. The weather for the third day of the Bowling Tournament was beautiful, although for an hour or two in the morning a strong wind was blowing. Good progress was made in the Champion Singles, and two rounds of the Champion Pairs were completed. The final in the latter contest can hardly be played before well into Tuesday afternoon, The only contest actually competed to-day was the Champion Rink Tournament for teams of four. Auckland and Thorndan were left in for the final of this. Atter a very exciting game the northern team won, the scores being—Auckland, 21 : Thorndon, 18.
