L\RGE ATTENDANCE AND GOOD PRICES, [Pkk Press Association,] Christchhhch, January 19. Tho third series of wool sales of the present season was held to-day. There was a largo attendance of buyers, and bidding for all descriptions, except merino fleece, was characterised by a fair spirit. Crossbred wools, especially the stronger and brighter descriptions, sold well at prices oqual to those obtained at tho December sales, but inorino wools sulforod a decline from thoso ratos, and some large clips were withdrawn. However, descriptions both of crossbred and merino for scouring purposes sold particularly well. Prices were as follows :— Groasy merino, superior, 7d to 7Jd; medium to good, Gd to GJd j inferior, 4d to 5Ju; pieces, <ld to GJd; locks, 2d to 3Jd; half bred, superior, BJd to 9Jd; medium to good, 75d to 8!d; crossbred, superior, 8d tj Bi|d; medium to goo<i, 7d to 7}d; halfbred and crossbred, inferior, Gd to 7d; pieces, superior, Od to 7Jd; pioces, medium, <l*,<i to 5Jd; locks, 2Jd to 3d. Scourod wool sold as follows i—Merino, to 1'kl; half-bred (second), to 12J.1.
