WELLINGTON ITEMS.
(Per Pres Association.) Wellington, July 19. In the Divorce Court to-day a decree nisi was granted in the case Ward v. Ward, wife's petition, for a divorce from William Neville Ward, solicitor and barrister, Otaki, on the ground of desertion and adultery. At the inquest to day on Alls Sunnox, at Carterton, a verdict was returned that deceased died from heart disease, accelerated by a dose of belladonna, administered through a mistake in the labelling of the bottles. The following rider was added : — " That in the opinion of the jury all poisons should boar a dietinctivo label." In the case of Macarthy v. Corporation, olaim .£SOO for trespass in connection with tho laying of a sewer aiising out of an old dispute between the parties, judgment was given for the City Council. Mr S. Danks, a promiaent citizen of Wellington, died yesterday.
