(Per Press Association.) Auckland, July 27. A statement was mode to the Official Assignee in bankruptcy to day by J. T. Lang and Alexander Lang, trading as Lang BroE., butter and cheese manufacturers, Papakura, bankrupts. The state inent showed the total debts of the estate to be ifil3G7 nnd the total assets .£623, leaving a deficiency of .£544. At a meeting of the University Council, the case of Professor Aldis came up, but was adjourned till the next meeting. A vote of censure was passed on the Professor for the nature and tone of the correspondence which has lately beon in the Auckland press by him. It is stated that there is friction between the insurance companies for alleged undercutting of the tariff by certain companies.
