The Royal Commission on Labour opened its sittings to-day, and arranged the details of procedure. Earl Derby has been appointed chairman of the transport section; Mr Mendella, M.P., of the textile*section ; and Mr Dale, ironmaster, of the iron and coal sections. The London General Omnibus Company have raised the wages of all their employes. Paris, May 27. The mob attacked a number of omnibuses which were blocking the streets in the city, and maltreated the drivers. Through the intervention of M. Consfcans, Minister of the Interior, fche Omnibus Company has conceded the demand of the employes for twelve hours per day, and the strike has ended. In regard to the calling out of the men employed by Mr Sexron, boot manufacturer, the officers of the Bootmakers' Union state that, having heard Mr Sexton was supplying boots to the Northern Company, they waited upon him and asked him to discontinue doing so. Mr Sexton admitted that he was supplying the company, and said he could not see what harm that did to the Union, whereupon it was pointed out that while Mr Sexton had one boy to four men, the Northern Company had a greater percentage of boys, and that Mr Sexton, by assisting tho Northern Company, prevented the regulaton as to boy labour being observed. Mr Sexton said the Union had no right to dictate to him. The officers replied that they had no intention to do so, but said they did not intend that any of the Union men should assist the .Northern Company through him. Mr Sexton's employes have accordingly been called out on strike.
