The Commissioner of Police has received a telegram stating that a body, supposed to bo that of tho late Major Jackson, M.H.R. for Waipa, has been, found in a cavo between Mokau and Kawhai. The body has not yet boen identified. The place is not easily reached, but a steamer is to be sent from Waitara to Kawhai to convey the body to the former place, where it is intended to hold an inquest. New Peyjiouth, December 2. Tho Government have chartered tho steamer Mohaka to goto a place near tho White Cliffs, where n, deal body- supposed to be that of Major Jackson— has been found. It is intendnd to bring the body to Waitara, where a short formal inquest will be held, and then, if found to be Major Jackson's, tho body will be sent on to Auckland.
