DnsutpiN, January 21. ■ , At a statutory meeting of the Harbour Boat d, a discussion took place with regard to statements iu ths Lindou Kcononiist from a Wellington correspondent. The statement started off by saying that it was rumoured that the Otago Board might not' e able to meet its interest iu January, after which oame a fulsome belauding of the Wellington Harbour and its supposed advantages. It was pointed out that before the article appeared in print the draft for the interest was on its way to London. Acoounta showed that them was not the slightest foundation for the statement, and it was remarked that however, damaging such absurd statements might be towards the debentures and the colony, those who frimed them should remember that it was the debenture-holders who were pre- ' judiced, and the loss from depreciation fall not on the board but upon those who • owned the debentures. It was resolved to coaimunicate with the Economist on the subject.
