The Pall Mull Gazette says the tone of Sir Patrick Jennings' r9marka was more Nationalist than the remarks of the Freemau's Journal itself. He stated that the Australians aupport the Home Bule ayßrem and Local ttelfgovcrnment, and are friendly towards the views of the Irish Nationalists. Irish feeling in Australia had beeu deeply excited by the rooent evictions. The Press, with the ex option of the i Sydney Moruing Herald, was almost unanimously in favour of Home Rule. The colonists rpgarded the question from an Imperial standpoint, and sympathised with people struggling to obtain whatthev themselves had secured after a period of much trial and diffii oulty. Mr Davitt has presented medals, chains, and money to the women who resisted the bailiff's at Bodyke. He is preaching a new campaign of 60 to 70 I per cent reduction in rents.
