Damage to fche extent of £15,000 was done before the flames could be subdued. Ifc is believed that the loss is fully covered by insurance, but the particulars are not available. The gas works, which are immediately adjoining the timber yard, were at one time in great danger of des* truotion, but fortunately the progress of the fire in that direction was evens tually cheeked. (Received February 19, 10.30 p.m.) The total loss by the fire at Messrs Uoss and (Jo 's timber yard tOday is estimated at £10,000. To what extent this is covered by insuranoe is not yet known,
