FeliMary 13. Intelligence haa been received that Mr Prince, eleotrician,was thrown from his horse while proceeding to inspect the Phoenix Mine, in company with Mr Buller, the owner, and Mr. R. Wilson. Prince's skull was fractured, and no hopes are entertained of his recovery. The Arawa passed the Bluff at 6.40 p.m. this evening. Two boys were capsized this afternoon in the harbour, but were rescued by a fisherman. A large shark, supposed to be 28 feet long, has been cruising about the lower harbour for two months Two fLherman hooked him to\day, making the third time, but the monster straightened out the solid iron hook and escaped. February 13. The Standard Insurance Company's annual report states that the revenue, including the balance brought forward, was and the expenditure £77.416, leaving a balance of £8127. A dividend at the rate of 7£ par cent, is recommended. A few showers of rain fell this morning, but scarcely laid the dust. Cardinal Moran held a reception today, at which a large numbar attended. He may probably give a temperanoe lecture on hia return from the north. February 14. Two boys, named Crombil and Con "don, who ran away from their parents at Oamani, were arrested on the arrival of the Beautiful Star, and will be sent back.
