JUNO DRAMATIC COMPANY.
Last evening a very fair audience as- | sembled at the Princess Theatre to wit" ness the performances of the Juno Dramatic Oompany. A double bill^was pre* sented, consisting of " The Bonny Fishwife," and " Never too Late to Mend." In the former Miss Juno had a character that is completely suited to her capabilities, and Maggie Macfarlane was represented to the life. Mr J, J, Kennedy's delineation of "Gaiters" was productive of great amusement. After a short interval Charles Raid's novel, " Never too Late to Mend," dramatised by Mr C. H.. Taylor, was played. All through the audience were kept thoroughly interested, while the second act, representing the scene between Tomßob* inson (Mr 0. H. Taylor and Hawes, the jailer (Mr 0. F. Seavl), where the former endeavours to defend Josephs (Mies Ella Oarriugton) from the brutal persecution of the latter, was so true and vivid that the audience were impelled to a spontaneous burst of applause, and clamoured for a recall, whioh was, however, not acceded to. The drama taken all through was the best the company have yet been seen in, and it would certainly bear repetition. Where everyone engaged did so well, we refrain from particularising. Suffice it to say, that every character was ably sustained. To*night Miss Juno will appear in her great impersonation of Jeanie Deans, in the play of that name, wbich will be under the patronage ol the. Wanganui Caledonian Sooiety, With suoh an attraction there should be a full house, and we fully expect to see Spotia's sons and daughters well represented.
