NEW PLYMOUTH.
June 28. The wreck of the steamer Samson was sold to-day at Waitara. The cabin furniture was bought by Mr Jones for £47, and the hull by Mr Butterworth for £43. The sails and boats brought £17, and were purchased by Mr Tutty. Total, £107. The third annual meeting of the New Plymouth Gas Company was held this afternoon. The profit for the year is £474, representing 5s a share, which was passed to the capital stock of each shareholder. At the Police Court to-day Edward Cross was charged with neglecting to support his wife in Wellington, and was ordered to pay £2 at once, and 10s per week afterwards.
