PROGRAMME. 1. — Handicap Hubdle Race of 30 soys ; nomination, £1 Is ; acceptance, £2 2s ; distance, 2£ miles, over nine flights of hurdles, about 3ft 9in high. To start at 11.30. a.m. 2.— Hack Huedle Eaob »f 10 sov3 ; entrance, 1 soy ; one mile and a distance; weights not less than lOst. To start at 12 o'clock. 3 # _M^ii)BN Plate of 33 soys ; weight forage j entrance, 3 sovs ; distance, l£ miles ; open to all horses that have not won advertised race prior to date of entry. To start at 1 p.m. 4.— Tubakina Handicap of 80 soys ; nomination, 2 guineas ; acceptance, 3 guineas ; second horse to receive £10 out of the stakes. Two miles and a distance. To start at 2.30 p.m. 5. — Scukby Race of 20 soys ; entrance, 2 soys ; catch weights ; one mile and a distance. To start at 3.30 p.m. 6.— Ladies' Pubse of 20 soys; welter • weights for age ; entrance, 2 sovb ; to be ridden by members of the Club ; distance, I 5 miles. To start at 4p. m. 7.— District Handicap of 30 soys; nomination, 1 soy; acceptance, 2 soys; H miles; all horses to be owned by persons residing between the Wanganui and Rangitikei Rivers, and to hare been their bond fide property for three months prior to the meeting. To start at 4.30 p.m. B.— Consolation Race (handicap) of £16 ; for all beaten horses ; entrance, 1 soy •, one mile and a distance. To start at 5 p m. RULES. Nominations for the handicaps to be made to the Secretary, at Turakina, on Friday, February 4th. Weights to be declared on Saturday, February 12th. Acceptances and general entries will close on Thursday, February 24th, at 9 p m,, at the Railway Hotel, Turakina, on which day, at 2 p.m., the gate and priveleges will be soid at the Ben Nevis Hotel. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition — that all disputes, claims, aDd objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whoaa they may appoint. Their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. Ail entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Turakina, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and in cases of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. In all weight-for-age races the weight-for-age scale of the Wanganui Jockey Club will be adhered to. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half- hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule, shall pay a fine oi 5 soys. to the race fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive hlaf the stakes. Qualification fee, £1 Is, for owners of all horses unloss a member of the club. Second horse to save its stakes only where specified to do so.
