RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Monday, 14th June. (Before W. F. Russell and Dr Tripe, J.P.'s.) John Murphy was charged with stealing two pipes, valued at £4 5s 6d,the property of John O'Brien. Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was remanded till Wednesday morning. ' He was further charged with stealing a £1 Bank note from the person of Henry Webb, whilst Webb waa asleep in the Provincial Hotel. A. remand was granted till Wednesday, the Clerk being engaged in the District Court. Frederick Potto, charged with being drunk and incapable, was fined 5s or 24 hours' imprisonment. William Blythe was charged with pursuing game with dog and gun, he not beinn licensed to do so. The case being proved, the Bench inflicted a fine of 10s and costs.
