Consolation Race of 30 soys, for all beaten horses ; handicap ; 1 mile and a distance ; entrance 1 guinea ; to start at 5 p.m. ; RULES: No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition — thut all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by^ a majority of tbe Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Wangadui, entrance money closed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and in case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. In all weight for age races, the weight for age scale of the Wanganui Jockey Club rules will be adhered to. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales, one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule, shall pay a fine of 5 soys to the race fund. All entries should be made on the Club's printed forms of entry, which may be obtained at the office of the Hon Secretary. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Qualification fee, 2 guineas for nonmembers. Second horse to save its stakes in any race, except otherwise specified. Nominations for the Wanganui Jockey Club Handicap and the Flying Handicap clese on February 4th, at 9 p.m. Weights to be declared on the 26th February.
