It has been suggested that a public meeting should be held to consider the political position, but the Times argues that it should not be done until after the Financial Statement has been made, and says that its object should clearly be to judge between the necessity for a dissolution or the continuance of the Grey Ministry. The total subscriptions towards the Indian Famine Relief Fund is £5,018.
Mr Redwood has purchased Ariel and Longlands from Mr Farmer. Mr Bed wood sold a Traducer- Waimea colt, one month old, to Mr Kitchen of Duuedin, for 500 guineas.
