ATTACKS IN PROSPECT

ON THE EASTERN FRONT GERMAN CONJECTURES. RUSSIAN “STREAMLINED” DIVISIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, May 24. Russian “streamlined” divisions, which outflank and cut off German disengaging movements, have been mentioned for the first time by the German overseas news agency, which describes them as special units. “They carry only the most essential weapons, ammunition and a bead bag,” the agency states, “and at night infiltrate across hiden paths and even if they are seen, are not always distinguishable from our own troops.”

Von Hammer, broadcasting, expressed the opinion that focal points of the coming Red Army offensive were, firstly, from the area west of Grigoriopol; secondly, from the Middle Seret, and thirdly, from Tarnopol and Brody towards Lwow. He added that the order of events “partly depends on the outcome of discussions on ’ the planned final- assault against Europe at present being held betwen London, Washington and Moscow.”
