Mr L. A. Truscott, accountant-teller at the Union Bank, Pahiatua, has been appointed manager of the Bank at Dargaville. Mr R. E. Chamberlain has been reappointed representative of the Wairarapa Farmers’ Union on the Wairarapa Veterinary Association. Mr. A. Owen Jones was unanimously re-elected chairman of the Wairarapa College Board of Governors at a meeting of the board last night. Mr E. T. Bliss (Carterton) has been re-appointed delegate for the Wellington District Pig Council on the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union. The many friends of Mr. E. W. Nielsen, of Perry Street, Masterton, will regret to learn that he has had to enter the Masterton Hospital where he will undergo an operation. The engagement is announced of Phyllis Jean, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Howard, Newman Road, Eketahuna, to William Robert (Robin), eldest son of Mr and Mrs C. Wyeth, Parkville.

In recognition of Mr Hugh Morrison's sterling services to the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union, Mr Morrison was unanimously elected an honorary life vice-president at yesterday’s annual meeting of the executive.
