The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate north-westerly winds prevailing and freshening tomorrow. Weather fair to fine. Cool night and mild day temperatures. FURTHER OUTLOOK'. Scattered rain developing chiefly about ranges. The Waingawa Sub-Station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum 63, minimum 48; terrestrial, 31; sunshine, 7 hours. PHASES OF THE MOON. Last quarter, May 15.' New moon, May 22. First quarter, May 30.
